The birthing of a book

I may not be expecting my first son or daughter,

But like some old wives tale I can feel it in my water,

A birth is just about to happen!

I have to scream to the whole nation,

Lest they think I’m jesting about gestation,

A BIRTH IS JUST ABOUT TO HAPPEN!

Overwhelmingly vexed by expectation,

Counting similes instead of sheep packs no sedation when

A birth is just about to happen.

Bring me my pool, my gas and air,

Send me best wishes from everywhere because

A birth is just about to happen!

Printwife says “You’re doing good, just one more big push!” and whoosh!

At our new edition all will strain to get a look.

Exclaiming in amazement 'Wow'!

As it seems we are the proud parents now,

Of a beautiful bouncing baby book!
