The powers that be seem to have come to the almost unanimous decision that October is the one month of the year when the passion of black poets is allowed to put food on
the table!
Black history is such a rich vein of inspiration for poetry,
achievement blended with tragedy, passion with pathos,
so it is unsurprising that the words of poets from the Diaspora
are often a first point of contact when trying to open young minds
to the subject.
The CCPress offers workshops, performances and assemblies
looking both at contemporary issues for Black people, but an
insight into the history that lies beneath them.
Workshops can be tailored to the specific needs of organisations
or educational establishments and are delivered by CRB checked,
professionally trained performers and facilitators.
